If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it." – Margaret Fuller
The spine of our Society is our monthly talks, each on an aspect of local Lincolnshire history. We encourage you to come along to see what it's all about!
Last year we heard about topics as diverse as the Shipbuilders of Louth, Lincolnshire’s Coastal pubs, long barrows and the Medieval Pottery Kiln at Toynton All Saints.
In summer we spend time on archaeology, such as smaller garden digs as well as the substantial Romano-British villa and farmstead in the Waithe Valley.
Summer’s end is marked by the Lincolnshire Heritage Fortnight in September.
Our programme of exhibitions showcase what we have been doing, and what we have found, as well as allowing members an opportunity to show off their areas of interest.
Our programme of monthly talks also starts again in September, see our next meeting dates below.
19th February 2025**Note change of venue and start time for February.**
19th March 2025 **Note change of venue and start time for March.**
Monthly meetings are usually between 7-9 pm on the 3rd Wednesday in the month at the Kings Baptist Church, Alexandra Road, Cleethorpes, DN35 8LG.
Please let us know if you are attending for the first time when you arrive. Talks start at 7.15, with a break for tea and coffee during the evening.
